Our Mission
The Gillingham Corps of The Salvation Army seeks to participate in God's mission of saving souls, growing saints and serving suffering humanity.
Our mission finds its basis in the words of Jesus, the founder of Christianity...
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age
(Matthew 28:19,20)
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
(John 13:34,35)
... and William Booth, the founder of The Salvation Army
While women weep, as they do now, I'll fight; while children go hungry, as they do now I'll fight; while men go to prison, in and out, in and out, as they do now, I'll fight; while there is a drunkard left, while there is a poor lost girl upon the streets, while there remains one dark soul without the light of God, I'll fight, I'll fight to the very end!
